Job description

We aim to revolutionize the field of speech and language pathology by developing AI models focused on the comprehensive assessment of pathological speech and language in children and adults. Thus, we hope to address critical delays in assessing and treating speech and language disorders and improve patient outcomes.

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our interdisciplinary team. You will contribute to developing AI models for analyzing, recognizing and evaluating pathological child speech, particularly focusing on patient populations with scarce data, such as patients with cleft lip and palate.

This position represents a unique opportunity to have a profound impact on the field of speech and language therapy.

Work environment

This project is a collaboration between Erasmus MC and Delft University of Technology. For the technical part of the project, you will be embedded in the Multimedia Computing Group at Delft University of Technology. This research group focuses on inclusive speech technology.

For the clinical part of the project, you will be part of the craniofacial research group at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Erasmus MC under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Versnel. This research group is extensively involved in international clinical research for rare craniofacial conditions in children. Together, these research groups aim to combine their technical and clinical expertise to innovate the field of speech and language therapy in children.

Qualifications and skills
